During his working visit to Rabat, Kingdom of Morocco, on February 5, the Ambassador of Armenia, Arshak Poladyan, held meetings with the Moroccan Minister of Industry, the Secretaries-General of the Ministries of Education and Culture, and the Head of the Strategy and Cooperation Department of the Ministry of Tourism.
Minister of Industry and Trade, Ryad Mezzour, provided the Ambassador with detailed information about the key industrial sectors of Morocco, noting that the country is seeking new markets. In response, the Ambassador proposed considering the establishment of Moroccan capital-based companies in Armenia, with the prospect of expanding exports to the EAEU markets. The proposal received a positive response from the Minister, and a preliminary agreement was reached to continue working in this direction.
During the meeting with the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Education, Mohammed Khalfaoui, discussions focused on the implementation of the cooperation agreement between the two countries’ educational institutions and the exchange programs for university students.
Next, Ambassador Poladyan met with the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Culture, Samira El Malizi. The interlocutors discussed initiatives aimed at strengthening Armenian-Moroccan cultural ties. In this context, the Moroccan side proposed inviting Armenian musical and dance ensembles to participate in Morocco’s annual festivals.
The working day concluded with a meeting with Hasna Zerouki, Head of the Strategy and Cooperation Department of the Moroccan Ministry of Tourism.
The parties exchanged views on the rich historical and cultural heritage of both countries, tourism opportunities, and the statistics of visits between Armenia and Morocco. Both sides emphasized the importance of joint efforts to enhance the tourism appeal of Armenia and Morocco, which would contribute to an increase in the number of visits in both directions.
